Happy Homemaker Monday: August 31, 2026

I'm late, of course. Not as late as I was last week, but still late. I'm on my overnight at work, and I just finished watering the dahlias. I'm supposed to head out on an errand with a friend in a little bit, so hopefully I shall get this post done before then.

Here we go!

The weather: We're having a mini-heatwave. (Which means mid-80's in the mountains). Boooooo. That messes up my schedules because then I can only work early and late.

As I look outside my window: The sun is setting on the farm. There's no movement in the willow tree branches because there's no breeze. The sky is orange and blue. Pure bliss.

Right now, I am: Typing up this post and watching Jerk-cat (the work cat) sleep on my laptop bag. Watching the clock for when I have to leave. Taking all the deep breaths.

Thinking and pondering: This week's work schedule. The fact that I am constantly mentally overwhelmed. Congratulating myself a little for holding it together (though yesterday was HARD).

How I am feeling: Pretty well, considering the emotional mess I was yesterday.

On the breakfast plate: Leftover Mexican chicken.

On the lunch plate: I had a piece of Tiramisu. Suuuuper healthy, I know.

On the dinner plate:  A friend delivered me a sandwich to work, and I had some Zuppa Toscana as well.

What I'm wearing: Black shorts and a tank top with a picture of the sun on it. My ratty gray Converse which you can pry off my cold dead feet.

On my reading pile: Literally everything, ha. Still in Psalms. Still not finished with anything. And  I borrowed "Imaginary Friend" by Stephen Chbosky from a friend. So, even more books I'm not reading.

On my TV  this week: Uhhhh...not much of anything. Dahlia season is not a TV watching time of year. But Goose and Ella want to finish "Medalist" (it's an anime on Hulu) and Goose really wants to finish Mr. Hiiragi's Homeroom (which I will happily rewatch another 80 times, haha).

On the menu: I made Zuppa Toscana tonight. Tomorrow is breakfast for dinner, Wednesday is Cabbage Roll Casserole. I have a surplus of rice and potatoes so I will be centering meals around that stuff.

Looking around the house: It's the house at the farm, not my house, ha. It's quiet and the work cats and work dog are all asleep. It's dark because I prefer to keep my room here dark. There are a few things I'm going to tidy up first thing in the a.m

To-do list for the week: I have to check in with clients, deliver some flowers, tie up some flowers at the farm, make sure the mums at the hotel don't die with this heatwave, go through Goose's clothes and decide what to keep and what to donate.

What I am creating: A bunch of flower arrangements.

From the camera:

The goldenrod is blooming! Another way I know Autumn is coming soon!

Have a lovely week!

Happy Homemaker Monday: August 24, 2026

I'm late, dreadfully so. But, for an "off" Monday, nothing about today was really off. First of all, I feel a little like I've been hit by a bus (oh, the joys of being a woman, ha). Second, I'm feeling stretched really thin (par for the course during my busy season). Third, I have a lot of things thrown at me (see previous sentence).

Anyway, if I plan to finish this post before Monday is over, here we go.

The weather: Pretty typical of late August in the mountains. Warm, warm, warm, then a few cool days sprinkled in there for variety. I live for those cooler days.

As I look outside my window: It's dark, y'all. But I can see the solar lights in my dahlia patch and the streetlight at the watershed across the street.

Right now, I am: Typing up this post, and leaning my head on a Squishmallow that Goose gave me a few years back. It's become my favorite pillow. Trying to talk a friend through a breakup.

Thinking and pondering: About all of the things I have to do this week, how I'm going to squeeze in a month's of work into a week, ha.

How I am feeling: Kind of grouchy and lousy, but also accomplished and super excited to see all the flowers in bloom.

On the breakfast plate: Y'all will be so proud of me. I had a whole breakfast today, and I even took a picture of it.

On the lunch plate: I had an adult lunchable, with salame, bread rounds and cheese.

On the dinner plate: I made Hungarian Goulash with mashed potatoes. We had no leftovers.

On the menu this week: I'm still working out the order, but Hamburger Helper, Butter Chicken, Apple-Puff Pancake are going to make appearances this week.

What I'm wearing: Pajamas and a wrap on my toes because I have a runner's injury and literally the only thing that helps is taping two of my toes together.

On my reading pile: I'm still in Psalms in the Bible, but I've done very little reading in the last week, and I need to get myself together.

On my TV this week: I've made it ten minutes into the next episode of Dead or Love with Ella, but otherwise all I've seen is an episode or two of Dance Moms. Dahlia season does not lend itself to TV marathons.

Looking around the house: It is pleasantly dark, hehehe. I've got a huge butterfly tent on my kitchen shelf where our caterpillars will live out their caterpillar lives...these guys pupate over the winter, and I've got a pupation station ready to go too. It's a lot of work raising these little guys, but we're learning all kinds of cool things.

To-do list for the week: Clean at three different houses (and mine), keep my sanity, get some garden things in order, switch out sunflowers for mums at a client's garden, Neem oil the gardens.

What I am creating: Lovely garden spaces. Flower arrangements for a client.

Something fun to share:

These are the caterpillars we're keeping. They're Hickory Horned Devil caterpillars, and they will be Regal Moths when they finish their metamorphosis.

From the camera:

Of course it's a dahlia. It's Kelgai Ann, and it's a waterlily/peony dahlia type. My favorite flowers are peonies but their season is so short, these are the next best thing.

Prayers, devotionals: Please continue to be in prayer for my best friend.

Happy Homemaker Monday: August 3, 2026

It's every other Monday today, so I'm home between farm shifts, so of course this post is later than I wanted it to be. Also, I'm still recovering from that horrible head cold (I'm about 90% better) and I chose sleep over posting. Anyway, without further ado...

The weather: Rainy and cooler this week, and then a warm up next week. I have to keep reminding myself that it's still very much summer. Yesterday felt almost like October, rainy and dark. I wasn't mad about it.

Right now, I am: Typing up this post, listening to music (the little soundtrack from "You and I Are Polar Opposites", an anime that Goose and I have been watching) and taking bites of lunch.

Thinking and pondering: "Where is my overnight bag?" "The couch cover needs straightening" "What should I pack as work snacks?"

How I am feeling: Human again, which after last week being so horrible has been so nice. I was able to get some work done on the farm this morning, and was able to come home and do some things instead of falling into bed tired. The kids are feeling better too, but Ella still has this cough, bleh.

On the breakfast plate: I had leftover Ham Alfredo, which is how I know I'm feeling better. I typically like leftovers for breakfast, that fuels me for a day on the farm.

On the lunch plate: More leftovers. Sue me, hehe.

On the dinner plate: Pork roast with seasonal veggies and roasted potatoes

On the menu this week:

Monday:  Pork roast, seasonal veggies, potatoes

Tuesday: Beef vegetable soup

Wednesday:  Pizza

Thursday: TBA

Friday: TBA

Saturday: Pizza soup

Sunday:  Bowtie pasta, red sauce, salad

What I am wearing: Black shorts, and a gray shirt with the phases of the moon on it.

On my reading pile: The same stuff I was reading last week, except I've moved on to Psalms in the Bible. I'm hoping to get some reading done on my overnight at work. I can't work ALL the time I'm there, am I right?

On my TV this week: The second Ivy and Bean movie (we missed movie night last week, as we were all super sick). I finished Mr. Hiiragi's Homeroom and it was super good. Ella came for the last four episodes with zero context and stayed glued to the TV with me. I started "Neighborhood Watch" on Hulu and The Greatest Teacher (our new undubbed Japanese show). I think part of me wants to go to Japan and start over there, haha. Both my kids are on board, and I wonder what that would be like. The language shock would be insane.

Looking around the house: The couch cover needs straightening. Goose is having a sandwich for lunch. Ella's sitting in here with me, discussing Tokyo Revengers (See? I need to be in Japan). Gypsy is in Ella's room, watching the birds out the window. I need to do some cleaning and some laundry before I leave today.

To do list: Laundry, still have to go through those shoes (we were sick, cut me a break!) I still have to pack my overnight bag, throw the dinner in the instapot.

What I am creating: A happier, cleaner space.

From the camera:

My sweet elderly neighbor sent us a bouquet in a yogurt glass after we sent her one when her sweet kitty Oscar died.

Devotionals, Prayers, Bible Verses:

Have a lovely week!

Happy Homemaker Monday: July 27, 2026

Happy start of the week, y'all. Also, we're sick in my household. Goose got some awful head cold thing last week, so it was only a matter of time before Ella and I went down, too. Bleh. It wouldn't be too bad except for me having to do a shift at the Bed and Breakfast yesterday, which definitely cut into whatever rest time I had planned. So, I'm  making up for it today. Lots of rest, punctuated by bursts of activity or whatever, right?

Without further ado, here we go.

The weather: Once again, a hot start to the week, and then a cool-down. Not that it matters because I don't think I'll be doing much outside today.

Right now, I am: Laying in bed, lamenting the fact that I am sick when there's an entire farm that needs me, and trying to figure out if my scratchy throat is from this cold or from the rust-remover I had to use at the B&B on a sink yesterday. Either way, UGH.

Thinking and pondering: If I have any pineapple juice in the house. Should I Instacart some? When will I feel better? Trying not to catastrophize this entire dahlia season, but it seems like everything is so slow.

How I am feeling: Like I have a cold, because I do. I'm tired, but I'm not TIRED. Everything in me wants to go do a million things, but I'm not dumb enough to fall for that. This is exactly how I am every time I get sick. I swear, I have "sickness imposter syndrome" because I look at my kids and I think "Oh, you poor sick babies", but I will get the same cold/whatever and think "Suck it up, buttercup" and it's not a healthy way of thinking at all (literally).

On my breakfast plate: I had a cup of coffee and an Oreo. Y'all, I gotta do better.

On the lunch plate: I'll probably make a salad, or some soup. Or leftover spaghetti. Hmm.

On the dinner plate: Apparently Hamburger Helper makes a Breakfast Helper now. I saw it at the store last week, and picked up a box. Please don't judge me, it's flower season.

On the menu: That Hamburger Breakfast Helper thing tonight, Cabbage Roll Casserole tomorrow, and Ham and Potato Chowder on Wednesday, Chicken and Rice on Thursday, and Quesadillas on Friday. I'll have to hit the grocery store before the weekend, so Saturday and Sunday are kind of up in the air right now.

What I'm wearing: A black tank top and black legging shorts. I didn't want to be in pajamas all day, even though I reckon I could

On my reading pile: I finished "She is a Haunting" (it was really good and really weird), currently in "Don't Go to Sleep" (I love scary stuff) and also "National Dish" by Anya Von Bremzen for my nonfiction kick.

Finishing up Proverbs in the Bible.

On my TV: The girls and I finished Project Hail Mary and it was so incredibly good. This week, Goose is picking the movie and she's chosen the second Ivy and Bean movie (she and I watched the first one together, and it was super cute). Ella and I watched Into the Fire: The Lost Daughter on Netflix over the weekend and we were alternately crying, or laughing, or angry. I'll let y'all look that one up, it's so hard to explain.

I need to get back into Mr. Hiiragi's Homeroom (my next undubbed Japanese show, Hell for You was gooooood).

Looking around the house: Goose is reading a book, Gypsy is asleep on the couch and Goose's cat, Perla, is lounging in a laundry basket. Ella is making a cup of coffee.

To do list:  Put the ham in the crockpot (it's not for tonight), wash dishes, fold laundry. I have to go through our shoes (and boy do we have a lot of shoes) and donate what's too small, etc. Later, I have to go to Lowe's hardware and buy ferns and mums for a garden I'm doing for a local hotel. The good thing about working there is I don't have to see anybody if I don't want to.

What I am creating: That garden at the hotel.

From the camera:

These are some of the sunflowers I planted at the hotel in town. They're finally all starting to bloom!

Bible Verses, Devotionals, Prayers: If y'all can spare a prayer for me? I hate being sick so much. Thanks so much, and have a lovely week ahead!

Happy Homemaker Monday: July 20, 2026

I am forever endeavoring to do better here. Two days in a row, which is small potatoes, but a pretty good start. I'm in between farm shifts, as this is the hottest part of the day, so here we go.

The Weather: It's supposed to reach 80 degrees today, which I realize is nothing compared to, say, Texas, or even my home state of Illinois, but my little mountain heart is no longer cut out for 80 degrees. Gross. Thankfully, it's supposed to cool down to the high 60's by Friday.

Right now, I am: Resting from farm shift #1, getting ready for farm shift #2. I kicked it off in high gear today, and I am SORE. But it shall all be worth it, I am sure.

Thinking and pondering: Everything (and everybody) is behind this year. Every farmer I've spoken to is behind in flower production, so I don't feel quite so bad. I'm wondering how much work I have to do tomorrow (it's a lot) and where the heck my small pitchfork went to (it's probably somewhere between flower rows if I know me)

How I am feeling: Sore, but accomplished and productive, which is a far cry from how I felt last week.

On the breakfast plate: I had coffee, and a piece of sourdough bread at work.

On the lunch plate: I went to the deli in town and got a BLT.

On the dinner plate: Fried eggs, toast, and in-season peaches. I may reheat some soup. At this point, eating is mainly for fuel. It's so hot.

On the menu: Tonight, we're having eggs and toast. Tomorrow, I"m  making beef stew and rice, and Wednesday is egg roll in a bowl. It's an off week so I'm only planning til Wednesday. I'll plan the rest of the week later. I do have a ham chilling out in my freezer, and will likely cook that and piece it out for things like soup and ham fried rice.

What I am wearing: my farm uniform: the ratty shorts I've had for years and a t-shirt.

On my reading pile: "She is a Haunting" and "Don't Go to Sleep".
We're having a spooky summer here.

On my TV this week: The girls and I are watching "Project Hail Mary" for Wednesday movie night. I'm also watching "Hell for You" on Netflix...in an attempt to learn some Japanese, I'm watching it without dubbing. Do I know much? Nah, but the Tokyo Revengers movie taught me how to yell "in a row!" which has been an endless source of amusement for me and my kids.

Looking around the house: Goose is playing with her Barbies (I love that she still enjoys them). Ella is in her room, talking to her best friend (who lives in Ohio) on the phone. Gypsy the black cat is sacked out on the couch in the living room. I should be finishing up this post like NOW so I can make dinner before I have to go back and hit the farm again.

To do list: Pack up my stuff for my overnight at work/the farm.
Take care of things for my mentor
                 Make dinner before I leave
                Go for a run
                Mini laundry run at work

What I am creating: Beautiful gardens. At this point in the year, tis all I can do.

From the camera:

My youngest wanted a haircut. A really short haircut. She has curly hair, and it's hard to cut, but I think I've done it justice and she loves it. Also, she got a camera for her birthday and takes it everywhere. I snapped this picture when she came to work with me last week and we took the work dog for a walk.

Bible Verse, Devotional, Prayers: I mentioned in yesterday's post that besides God, nobody is coming to save me. I need to be praying for my sanity and remember where my obligations actually are (God, my kids, my work). I have no specific verses, but I've been slowly making my way through the book of Proverbs.

Have a lovely week!

Happy Homemaker Monday: February 10, 2025

Good...afternoon. Today's been all kinds of weird, because of scheduling and such, but I'm doing my best to keep it all together, and so far it's working-ish. Some days, that's the best we can do.

The Weather in My Neck of the Woods: We're back to seasonable temperatures, and rain. Thankfully, not a lot, but there's still potential for flooding and our infrastructure honestly doesn't need more flooding. Not after Helene. We have temperatures in the teens overnight next week, and honestly, that's still not the negatives we saw a few weeks back, so I'm happy enough.

As I look outside my window: The sun is out, but it's that winter-bleary sunshine, and not bright like it was last week. There's clouds out there and I know they mean rain/seasonal weather, and that's actually pretty comforting to me.

Right now, I am: Typing this post, debating lunch, lamenting having to finish some pretty heavy-duty paperwork for the dahlias. Basically cycling through my to-do list. Also watching Renfield the giant white cat at the end of the bed who looks annoyed that I'm not paying him all the attention.

Someting fun to share (a blog, a video, a tip) This is totally not a tip, or anything, but last week, I tried the Starbucks Blackberry Sage Lemonade because it sounded really weird. It ended up actually being really good, so I guess your tip/advice is to try the weird things, they may turn out pretty dang good.

Thinking and pondering: I want to find an excuse to go outside today, other than just my usual run/walk/whatever. Maybe I'll stop by the thrift store with Goose later. Hmm. I think I need to buy bread, as we are on our last loaf.  And there's my excuse.

On my bedside table: Books, my planner, my Kindle, a random clip of Goose's that she left here and I'll be returning to her room shortly. My tiny mug of coffee with the mushrooms on it.

On my T.V: Scamanda, Found (I need to catch up!), School Spirits (anybody else watching, what in the actual heck is going ON?) , Animal Control (if it's back) . Also I found Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High, and I've already seen every episode of Degrassi: TNG and Degrassi: Next Class so I guess I'm gonna start from the beginning, hehe.

Listening to: The clack of the keyboard, Goose in the next room, and myself whistling. My Dad whistled all the time and it drove my mother nuts. I find myself whistling a lot and it makes me happy because it reminds me of Dad.

On the menu for this week: Today, we're having Winter Soup (like potato soup, but add a bunch of extra veggies), Tomorrow is Oregano Chicken with Rice, Wednesday we're having Cube Steak and Egg noodles, Thursday is Chicken Quesadilas, and Friday is Broccoli Cheddar Soup (in the crockpot because I'm grocery shopping that day)

On my to-do list: Buy bread, finish up that paperwork, make that soup, read my book. I'm so used to burning the candle at both ends that I've had to schedule time to do things like read books and basically lay around and laze about.

Happening this week: I'm meeting with a client on Thursday, grocery shopping on Friday...I'm also going thrifting with the girls on Thursday afternoon. I'm also de-stuffing clothes for the girls and for myself.

What I am sewing/knitting/crocheting/creating: I'll be designing some client gardens and I'm going to try and make suncatchers with Goose.

My simple pleasure: My little sunset walks which I do solely for the purpose of my mental health. I didn't realize that getting out of the house (usually alone) for even five minutes was going to have such a positive effect on my mental state.

Lesson learned this past week: We literally have no idea what people are going through, so just please be kind. Some people do a really good job of hiding when they are having a hard time and don't often speak about what's bothering them, and there are always various reasons for that. For everybody's sake, it's better to be kind.

Looking around the house: Does anybody else have *THE CHAIR* where laundry and/or coats congregate? We do and it's driving me nuts. Not nuts enough to do anything about it...just yet, but that time is fast approaching.

From the camera: Goose asked me for a haircut this weekend, and here are the results

Prayer List: The friend I mentioned last week, Gabe (may he learn to take better care of himself), this whole entire country, and the planet.

Bible Verse, Devotional: I don't really have a specific verse in mind, but we were in the 24th Chapter of Luke in church yesterday, and I noticed that on the walk to Emmaus, when Jesus walked with the disciples (and they had no idea who he was), in hindsight, they realized He was there the whole time, and that gave me a lot to think about, in the times where I've felt "alone."

Until next time...maybe I'll even get a recipe up here!

Happy Homemaker Monday: May 29, 2023

Good morning! This weekend has been nonstop rain (but I did get enough of a reprieve in it to go for a run last night). I reckon it's good for the garden, not so great for my migraines. But, I've persevered. Got through both girls' birthdays and now I don't have to think about birthdays again until September, with Gabe. I'm giving myself a late start and maybe I'll even get to hang out with a friend later. Let's hope! And let's get on with Happy Homemaker Monday!

The weather: Lots of rain chances. 60's and 70's. Perfection.

As I look outside my window: Cloudy but I don't think it's raining at this moment, which is great. My sinuses and head could use a break. Everything is green and thriving. My peonies are soooooo close.

Right now I am: Debating breakfast (Ella made cinnamon rolls), typing up this post, and discussing Squishmallows and how they shouldn't get wet with Goose. She wants to take her new toy to errand-run, and I'm telling her it's not a great idea.

Thinking and pondering: Planting season. Things at the B&B. The fact that laundry is neverending. Social media breaks are nice. It's a jumble, really.

Listening to: Tall Heights and Goose singing along with it. The song is "Spirit Cold". The clack of the keyboard.

How I am feeling: Good, a little tired. I guess that means more rain is on its way.

On the breakfast plate: Either a cinnamon roll or leftover rotini. I'm leaning toward the rotini, honestly. Too much sweet for breakfast tends to make me sick.

On the lunch plate: Maybe that cinnamon roll? Maybe nothing. Depends on how much I have to do at work.

On the dinner plate: Sausage, Veggies, and Rice. Maybe I'll grab an extra salad if I get to hang out with a friend.

What I'm wearing: A black and violet summer dress. I've decided I'm resurrecting the floral dress trend simply because I can.

On my reading pile: My Bible, a book on propagating plants and Gardening in the Carolinas. I need to pick a novel and maybe I'll get to do that later.

On my TV this week: Not sure. I finished "The Girl from Nowhere" and it is definitely the weirdest thing I've ever seen. I think I need a TV break to decompress. Maybe I'll create some art. Maybe I'll garden. Maybe I'll do both.

Looking around the house: It's softly lit, and it's quiet. Goose is playing quietly. My little houseplants are thriving. All is right in my little world.

On the menu:

Monday: Sausage, Veggies, and Rice

Tuesday: Turkey Stroganoff, Egg Noodles

Wednesday: Hamburger Gravy, Mashed Potatoes

Thursday: Chicken Fried Rice (of the Hamburger Helper variety)

Friday: Zuppa Toscana

Saturday: Beef tips and gravy, Roasted potatoes (or noodles)

Sunday: Chicken gnocchi skillet

To do list: This post. Some work. Laundry. Gardening.

From the camera:

My youngest, affectionately known as Goose, turned 6 yesterday. It was a pretty big deal :)

Devotional: Reading today about close fellowship with Christ and it hit a nerve. I think I need to lean into devotions more, even if it means waking up earlier or shifting priorities.

Have a beautiful week!

Happy Homemaker Monday: October 5, 2020

I've been absent because life is crazy, and I pretty much work nonstop. It is what it is, moving on!

The weather: The week starts off nice enough, but I'm pretty sure we have a tropical system move through later. Ugh. Glad all of the dahlias are cut down, otherwise I'd be working in the rain/wind and I'm not about that life, lol.

How I am feeling this morning: A touch tired, I need coffee. Like, NEED COFFEE. I feel like I need to start a diet NOW. This weekend was my birthday and between cake and birthday takeout, I feel...ugh.

On my mind: The ridiculous amount of work I have to get accomplished this week, what I'm going to purchase for my best friend's grandmother's birthday.

On the breakfast plate: Nothing yet, but coffee will happen soon. I'll probably grab brunch/lunch at work today.

On my reading pile: I just finished "The Secrets of Lost Stones" this weekend. I cried so much, but it was beautiful.

I'm currently reading "The Strangler's Daughter" by Amy Cross, and it's weird. I'm pretty sure there's more going on than meets the eye, and I don't like the situation (not the book) one bit

On my T.V.: Ella and I just discovered "Bride Killa" on Hulu. It's from Investigation Discovery, and it's true crime, about married (or about to be married) couples who murder their partner. Yikes.

On the menu for this week:

Monday: Greek Hamburger Casserole

Tuesday: Pulled Pork Tacos

Wednesday: Fully Loaded Baked Potato Soup

Thursday: Hungarian Goulash

Friday: Sausage, Couscous and Peppers

Saturday: Chicken Stew

Sunday: Spaghetti Bake

From the camera:

My birthday was Saturday, but I ended up celebrating with my best friends yesterday, too. When I was a young girl, my Dad would always buy me these ridiculously beautiful birthday cakes...so my best friend made me one. I cried, it is so beautiful!!

Looking around the house: It's quiet and warm. The cat is asleep next to Josie and part of me wishes I could go to bed, too. Alas, it is not to be.

New recipe that I tried last week: I got nothing...we stuck to tried and true favorites last week.

To relax this week, I will: Go to bed earlier. Take a long drive into the mountains to watch the leaves change color. Collect leaves with Josie, and marvel at their beauty. Pick the last of the Autumn roses. Take a long bath with the homemade lavender and lemon bath salts I got for my birthday.

On my prayer list: Several pregnant friends, a lady bravely fighting cancer, this country

Have a great week!

Happy Homemaker Monday: August 24, 2020

Good evening, again! I had to rush out early today to go to an appointment, and this post never got written. Whoops.

The Weather: It's honestly warmer this week than I would like, but I'll deal with it. After all, Autumn is on the way, and it's my (other) favorite season (along with Spring, Summer, and Winter, I'm not picky)

How I am feeling this afternoon: Pretty good. It's been an eventful day, but it is nearly over.

On my mind: My schedule for this week (yikes!) and how good it feels to lay down for a few minutes, even if it is only to type up this post.

On the breakfast plate: It was more like lunch, but on the way to the appointment I had some hashbrowns with cheese and mushrooms and tomatoes. So, that's almost normal breakfast food. Go me!

On my reading pile: I'm maybe 10 percent into The Last of the Moon Girls. It's good. So good. I just literally have no time. But when I do read it, I get lost in it. The herb farm is literally my dream.

On my TV: Tonight is the night that Ella and I WILL finish our terrible Lifetime movies, The Wrong Wedding Planner and Deadly Influencer. (Gosh who comes up with these titles anyhow?)

On the menu for this week:

Monday: White Sausage and Spinach Soup

Tuesday: Chicken and Ramen Stir Fry with Garden Veggies

Wednesday: Cheeseburger Soup (Crockpot), Salad

Thursday: Chicken Pesto Casserole

Friday: Meatball Stew, Noodles

Saturday: Pork Patties, Mac and Cheese

Sunday: Chicken Parmesan, Salad

From the camera:

Ella and I found this little frog in the mulch pile on Saturday! We think it's a girl!

Looking around the house: Ohhhh man. It needs vacuuming, badly. Gabe was off this weekend, and he had so much fun with the kids (I took a trip out of town for my own sanity). A little bit of vacuuming is a small price to pay.

Recipe I tried last week or one we really enjoyed: I finally gave in to my husband and older daughter's begging and made my Dad's crepe recipe, topped with Nutella. And they were ROCKIN.

To relax this week, I will: Steal moments away when my husband is home and available to watch Josie for a few. I'll lay back on our giant bed and  listen to The Black Crowes with closed eyes. I'll sit on our deck and listen to the rain. I'll get lost in a book. I'll weed the herb garden and let Josie pick the chamomile "daisies".

Something I want to share: I cannot make a pancake. Literally, cannot. I think I'm cursed.

On my prayer list: Everybody in the path of the tropical storm/hurricane combo. One of my best friends is evacuating, and it's honestly getting scary out there.

Try and have a beautiful week, all!

Happy Homemaker Monday: August 17, 2020

Good...evening. I'm on an overnight at work, and most of my day was spent schooling/working/getting ready for this overnight, so I'm just now hopping on to do this post. Whoops!

The weather: Dare I say it? It's cooling off!! I had to wear a sweater this evening!

How I am feeling this evening: Tired. My neck is sore, but that's from sitting here at an odd angle, ha.

On my mind: The school year, going HOME tomorrow morning. The rest of this week. It's crazy how fast time is passing.

On the breakfast plate: I had a glass of sweet tea and two mozzarella sticks. I mean, at least they were hot. (They were from the deli bar at the Food Lion). Don't worry, the rest of my family had a normal breakfast. I'm the only one who eats like a raccoon, lol.

On my reading pile: I finished Thief River Falls and it broke my heart. And made me cry. And it was weird and wild and heartwarming. Now I'm going to start The Last of the Moon Girls by Barbara Davis. Hopefully it won't take me months to read.

On my TV: I am emotionally and mentally preparing myself for the final episode of Greenleaf. I already know what happens, and I am NOT prepared.

On the menu this week:

Monday: Chicken with couscous and veggies (Gabe cooked)

Tuesday: Beef and Cabbage Stew

Wednesday: Garden veggie mac and cheese, cucumber salad

Thursday: Beef Stew

Friday: Breakfast for Dinner

Saturday: Comfort Chicken and Noodles

Sunday: Taco Spaghetti

From the camera:

My oldest living child is a freshman in high school. I am NOT okay.

Looking around the house: I'm actually at work...but Fat Bear, one of the work cats is laying next to me, while JT the work dog is on the floor. It's lovely and clean because I cleaned before I signed off for the night.

New Recipe I tried last week, or one we enjoyed: My husband likes his anime, and so he asked me to make Beef and Peppers from Cowboy Bebop. I made it on Friday and it was a success. I also made a cobbler for the first time in years, and it was pretty amazing.

To relax this week, I will: Take my older daughter into the hills on a picnic with Chinese takeout (her idea). Take the younger daughter to the river, or on a mini picnic of our own. Take myself on a walk into the woods where I can look at the pine trees reaching up toward the stars and moon, my Dad's favorite view.

On my prayer list: My Mom and siblings, as usual. Friends going through some difficult times, and a few friends whose due dates are fast approaching!

Happy Homemaker Monday: August 10, 2020

Good morning, friends! I hope you've had a lovely weekend, and hope your Monday morning is equally lovely!

The Weather: It's cooling down a bit this week. There's a wave that the Hurricane Center is keeping an eye on...so maybe some bad weather coming this way. I hope not, hurricane season always makes me nervous, even this far inland.

How I am feeling this morning: Rushed, and hatin' on my allergies. Honestly, I'm not impressed by this allergy season at all. It's been SO bad and everytime I sneeze, I get looked at like "Oh, no, you have the Rona!" (No, no, I do not)

On my mind: Work...because I have to go in sooner than anticipated. Sometimes, I feel like I need a bit more of a break, but honestly this is the reality of dahlia season. I'm super glad that when I brought dahlias to a local antique store, they've sold out both times I've delivered.

On the breakfast plate: Um, I've had a cup of coffee and two Altoids. So, I'm clearly winning, haha.

On my reading pile: I finished "Don't Even Breathe"...and it was SO good. One of the only books where I didn't guess the killer!! I think I'm going to read Thief River Falls, because it sounds good AND it's where my husband's favorite uncle lives.

On my T.V. : Ella and I are watching "The Wrong Wedding Planner", but we've had to watch it in pieces because at the end of the day I am just. so. tired. It's awful in the way only a Lifetime movie can be.

On the menu this week:

Monday: Meatloaf balls with rice and gravy

Tuesday: Hot Dog Soup (it's my husband's grandma's recipe, might post on the blog)

Wednesday: Caprese Grilled Cheese

Thursday: Country Club Chicken

Friday: Peppers and Beef

Saturday: Yellow Split Pea Soup in the Crockpot

Sunday: Italian Sausage and Gnocchi Skillet

From the camera:

I visited a sunflower farm yesterday. It was beautiful!

Looking around the house: It needs TLC, BAD. Gabe was off this weekend, and I took that time to get a little bit of time to myself. He tries, though, and that's what matters.

Chore I'm not looking forward to this week: All the time I'm going to be spending in the garden. It's beautiful (I'll try to post some pictures this week), but it's exhausting. I'm exhausted.

To relax this week, I will: Watch the Perseids from a mountaintop with my teenage daughter. Take my younger daughter to the river and skip flat stones Take a sunset walk alone.

Something I want to share: Epsom salt around the water line of tomatoes and peppers helps to make more fruit :)

On my prayer list: This country, the world, but more specifically, a couple friends who have tried so hard to have babies. I just want this be to be their year. Please pray earnestly with me. God knows who they are.

Happy Homemaker Monday: July 20, 2020

Good morning! It's Monday, all right. Today hasn't started off how I wanted, but I think if I keep a poisitive attitude, I can turn it around! I've already had my coffee, and am headed to work soon.

The weather: It's been HOT, especially for the mountains, which are logically (supposedly) cooler than most. Nope, not so much this year. It has been HAWT.

How I am feeling this morning: Trying not to let little things annoy me, and focus on the good. I've literally had to make a "grateful for" list in my head because otherwise, I'll cry.

On my mind: Work, work, work. More work. But really, it's work and some projects I've gotta get done around the house. I think I'm in the market for a few new dressers. Hmm.

On the breakfast plate: Just coffee right now. Maybe I'll get something else later.

On my reading pile: I just finished "Ghost Song", so I'll be looking for something new to start today.

On my T.V.: Ella and I just got "The Beast" from 1996. It's a movie about a giant squid, but William Petersen is in it and I would watch him read a phone book. So, that's on the schedule for tonight, ha!!!

On the menu this week:
Monday: Sheet Pan Supper with Sausage and Vegetables
Tuesday: Homemade Crunchwraps
Wednesday: Cauliflower Kuku
Thursday: Chicken Cutlets with Garlic Parmesan Noodles
Friday: Pizza Soup
Saturday: Angel Chicken , Rice
Sunday: Crockpot Lasagna

From the Camera:

Ella and the giant zucchini from this weekend (I'd cut the top off and it was STILL a giant)

Looking around the house: The girls are relaxing. I'm pretty sure Ella is surfing Pinterest, she is 100 percent my kid, haha!!! Renfield the giant white cat is asleep on the TV. Gabe has already left for work.

Chore I'm not looking forward to: Can I lump work under "chores" today? I'd really love to stay home and rest, but it's not happening. But...all the same, I'm grateful I have a job, especially in these times.

To relax this week, I will: Take the girls to hike to the watershed. Ella and I haven't gone in years, and Josie has never been there. There's a little sandy inlet and the calmest water you ever saw, with lots of little fish swimming around. And so many blackberries, which will be coming ripe soon.

Something I want to share: Complete randomness, BUT.
Cats don't sweat. It's why they groom more when it is hot. I'm 36 and I just learned that yesterday.

On my prayer list:
This country. This whole entire world, and all of the people in it. Social media is such a dangerous and ugly place lately.

Try and have a beautiful week, friends!

Happy Homemaker Monday: June 29, 2020

Good morning! I hope this weekend was beautiful for you all. My husband was home this week (and he is actually home today!) so that was a rare treat. I cannot remember the last time he had a 3 day weekend.

The weather: Typical NC mountain early summer. 70's during the day, cooler at night. Rain chances almost every day. (It's good that I don't have to water the garden every day!)

How I am feeling this morning: Introspective. I'm reading Song of Solomon during my morning devotions currently (just finished with Ecclesiastes and before that the book of Job), and today, I came across the verse of "my own vineyard I have not kept". I looked it up, found a sermon by C.H. Spurgeon and boy, does it have me thinking about my own neglected vineyard. I am so quick to do things/jobs outside the house, but I need to care more about my vineyard/my family/my kids. I just feel like sometimes I could be home more...should be home more. Mom guilt is real. Christian Mom guilt is also real. A lot of little changes I have to make.

On my mind: The aforementioned vineyard and all.the.things. on my to do list today. Some things my husband and I are praying about.

On the breakfast plate: Uhmmmm, coffee, before I head out for work. Eventually, I guess I'll have a Lean Cuisine while I'm working. It's Monday, all right.

On my reading pile: "Tears" by Caroline Clark. I finished "Deep Dark Secrets" by Keri Beevis. Sometimes I hate having an overanalytical mind...I figured that book out halfway through, but it was nice to cheer on the main characters.

On my TV: Nothing, really. Ella and I are watching "The Perfect Mother" on, you guessed it, Lifetime. I mean, if my teenager wants to hang out with me and watch lame movies, I'm all about it. I know that at 14, this was NOT me, and while my Mom and I have worked out our differences, we were not close when I was a teen.

On the menu this week:
Monday: Stuffed Peppers
Tuesday: Ramen Stir Fry
Wednesday: Split Pea Soup
Thursday: Quesadillas
Friday: Chicken, mushroom sauce, noodles
Saturday: Italian Chowder
Sunday: Ziti, Salad

From the camera:

I received some lovely peonies from my boss last week!!

Looking around the house: Renfield the big white cat has just sauntered past. (Dude is over 20 lbs so when I say big, I mean it). I can see my gaggle of houseplants from where I'm perched on the bed. It's a little dark, we have a lot of cloud cover. Josie and Gabe are hanging out in the living room.

Chore I'm not looking forward to: I'm trying to find joy in all the chores. One thing I have to do is pack up a lot of my bigger clothes for the Goodwill. Over the last year, I've lost 80 lbs and I'm still losing. Some of that stuff looks ridiculous on me, and I don't know why it's still here, honestly, other than my work schedule is atrocious sometimes and I have no time for anything. But out it goes!

To relax this week, I will: Walk barefoot in the grass. Sing along with Joy Williams and Dolly Parton. Find some lovely flowers on clearance and leave them on the doorstep of the landlady from the first house we ever rented, get a safe distance away and give her a call. Enjoy time with my husband, and kids.

On my prayer list: The world right now. It's such a hard place to navigate, especially for children.

Happy Homemaker Monday: June 22, 2020

Good morning, how are we almost at the end of June! When did that happen?
I hope you've all had a wonderful weekend.
Father's Day is a bit hard here, as my Dad passed in July of 2018 and Grandpa Bruce passed on my birthday last year.
Next to my husband, they were the two most important men in my life and being without them, especially on Father's Day is hard.

The Weather: Very warm with rain chances every day this week. At least I don't have to water the garden, ha!!

How I am feeling this morning: Honestly, pretty energetic. I've found that early mornings work for me. As much as the idea of "sleeping in" excites me, it's really not for me, and it makes me sluggish and tired for the rest of the day.

On my mind: All of the stuff I have to get done today, including finishing up this post and taking Josie to the river (We're making a set of alphabet stones.) There's a place in town here that helps developmentally disabled adults and they make the prettiest painted stones. Josie and I took a walk yesterday, and walked right by their display of painted stones. And then I saw an Instagram post about alphabet stones and well, there we go.

On the breakfast plate: A bowl of vegetable soup and a Diet Dr. Pepper, whomp whomp.

On my reading pile: "Deep Dark Secrets" by Keri Beevis.

On my T.V: Who on earth knows? This is going to be a busy week, so maybe I'll have time to squeeze in a Lifetime movie with Ella. Yesterday, we watched Storm Cell, a movie about a storm cell "warning her unsuspecting brother" about an incoming tornado. Oh, boy. False advertising. The brother was actually not "unsuspecting" at all.

On the menu this week:
Monday: Beef-filled Crepes
Tuesday: Garden Veggie Mac and Cheese
Wednesday: Breakfast for dinner
Thursday: Taco Casserole
Friday: Country Club Chicken
Saturday: Cabbage, Sausage, and Potatoes in the Instapot
Sunday: Garden Veggie Spaghetti

From the Camera:

On the advice of my father in law, a man dear to my heart, I went out and chased the sunset the other night. (What he said was, "take your camera and get outta the house for a while", so I did)

Looking around the house: Josie has her dollhouse open and her coloring books out. She's currently on the porch swing with Gabe. I can hear her shouting in excitement about a flying insect. I'm playing Alan Jackson's hymns because they make my heart happy, and they remind me of Grandpa Bruce. The fan in the living room is going. The fishtank filter is bubbling away. The dishwasher is going. It's a quiet, atypical Monday, because I don't have to work today. I'm going to take off for a few hours with a friend.

Chore I'm not looking forward to doing this week: I got nothing. I'm trying to find joy in this stuff...even the fridge.

To relax this week, I will: Do some research on July's Scripture writing topic, and listen to some sermons online. I'm still soul searching, still looking for a church that lines up with my values.

On my prayer list: Everything. This whole world. It's such a mess.

Have a beautiful week, my friends!

Happy Homemaker Monday: May 25, 2020

Good...afternoon. I am late getting this up, but I've already been to work and am actively planning dinner. It's memorial day, and I've already cried twice because this is the first year where Grandpa Bruce isn't with us to go to the Memorial Day event at our town Veterans Park. Later on, I'm going to take the girls to the park to put some flowers next to Grandpa's name on the wall.
This is how we choose to remember Grandpa, slightly grumpy, always full of life, and forever making his beautiful music.

Anyway, before I start crying again, I'm going to get on with this HHM.

The weather: Rain chances every. single. day. But at least we aren't under a flood watch, because last week was ROUGH. I just want some sun on Thursday, Josie's 3rd birthday. Please. Pretty please?

How I am feeling this afternoon: Tired. Grateful for the cooling fan.

On my mind: Grandpa Bruce. My Mom's birthday present, why isn't it here yet? (Because COVID, I know) I'm hoping I can pull off dinner today (Sandra's Beef-filled Crepes), but feeling mildly confident because I can make wonderful crepes.

On the breakfast plate: I had Hardee's hash rounds and a coffee, and half a little apple hand pie.

On my reading pile: I got the reading bug and finished the Angie Pallorino series by Loreth Anne White last week. I ugly cried SO much. I need to finish "Dewey" and I already started "Dark Vengeance" by Russell James.

On my TV: I honestly have no idea right now. I've mostly been reading.

On the menu this week:
Monday: Beef Filled Crepes
Tuesday: Chicken and Couscous, Veggies
Wednesday: Pork Chops in Mustard Sauce, Mashed Potatoes
Thursday: Josie's birthday! Meatball Philly Cheesesteak Bake, and Cake!
Friday: Italian Chowder
Saturday: Cabbage Roll Casserole
Sunday: Chicken Fettucine Alfredo

From the camera:

The soon to be birthday girl, Josie Tamarah, in all of her curly haired glory!!

Looking around the house: Overall not bad, but my living room looks like a toy store threw up in it. Oof.

Chore I'm not looking forward to this week: Right now, it's folding the laundry. Because I just don't waaaaaant to.

To relax this week, I will: Wait until Thursday and maybe sleep in just a touch before decorating cupcakes, ha.

On my prayer list: This country, my Mom and siblings as usual, and an unspoken prayer request. God knows.

Devotional/Bible Verse: I'm currently in 2 Chronicles, and I'm coming to the end of it. Today, I read about Hilkiah finding the book of the law and King Josiah realizing how greatly Judah had transgressed...and immediately seeking God. And it's made me wonder. How often am I actively seeking God?

Have a beautiful week!!!

Happy Homemaker Monday: May 18, 2020

How on EARTH are we halfway through May? How is my daughter FOURTEEN years old? How is the baby turning THREE in ten days? What year is this? It's been that kind of morning, haha.

The weather: Some rain and craziness due to Tropical Storm Arthur...I can already see the fog rolling in. The drive to work is gonna be fun.  We have rain chances every single day this week, but it's Spring in the mountains, so of course we do.

How I am feeling this morning: Not as rushed. I was able to get up early enough to have some alone time. That's when I recharge from work, kids, etc etc. Now I'm typing up this post and getting ready to leave for work.

On my mind: ALLLLLL the things I have to get done today, including a trip to the post office (which I am not looking forward to, social distance people, PLEASE) to send a few little goodies to one of my best friends.

On the breakfast plate: A quarter of a chicken and mushroom quesadilla and some warm pasta salad.

On my reading pile: I'm almost halfway through The Lullaby Girl (a continuation from The Drowned Girls) and Angie Pallorino (the main character) is such a bad@$$! I love her. Also, it helps that some of the book is written in Polish, my native language. I haven't read anymore in "Dewey" but I was scrolling through my Kindle and found "Dark Inspiration" by Russel James which I had gotten AGES ago and read a little bit in. Well, it sucked me in and I finished it yesterday and ended up getting the sequel "Dark Vengeance." I'm a sucker for a ghost story, and the ghost story in these two books is great. Kindle Unlimited is totally worth it.

On my T.V: Ella and I watched "Scoob", which I bought for her as part of her birthday present. It was cute. We also watched "Stalker in the Attic"...nobody takes these Lifetime movies seriously, do they?

On the menu this week:
Monday: Breakfast for dinner: Cauliflower Kuku, Toast, Bacon
Tuesday: Sandra's homemade Crunchwraps
Wednesday: My Gram's Vegetable Soup
Thursday: Cube Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy
Friday: Chicken Stir Fry
Saturday: Taco Casserole
Sunday:  Pasta Carbonara, Salad

From the camera:

These kids crack me up!!

Looking around the house: The dishwasher is going. Josie is coloring in a coloring book The living room will need to be vacuumed later. I have some deep cleaning in the bathrooms.

Chore I'm not looking forward to: The bathrooms. Sigh. At least it's not the refrigerator.

To relax this week, I will: Read. Maybe watch a movie by myself.

On my prayer list this week: This country, the government, my friend and her newborn baby. My Mom, as always.

Bible Verse, Devotional
This was in my reading this morning...and it's made me think. I need to work harder at cultivating a friendship with Jesus.

Monday, May 11, 2020

Happy Homemaker Monday: May 11, 2020

Good morning! I'm running behind (when am I not though?). Mondays used to be my days off/late short shift days, but with the Coronavirus and just basic schedule changes, it's anything goes. Today, I'm mostly off, but who knows what next week will bring/

The Weather: Cloudy and cool right now, but the danger of frost is supposed to pass after Wednesday night, so I can finally stop bringing the plants in/taking the plants out, etc etc etc.
The rest of the week looks warmer, with higher rain chances.

How I am feeling this morning: Physically, pretty good. I do think I didn't follow a good diet this weekend, bleh. But, mothers day...that's my excuse anyway.

On my mind: The usual. I'm trying to plan ahead for my Mom's birthday (the first of June). Ella and I are brainstorming that, while I am also trying to brainstorm Ella's birthday (this Sunday) and Josie's (the 28th). The gifts are starting to arrive via USPS and I am running out of places to hide them!! (we have one for Josie behind the shower curtain in the spare bathroom)

On the breakfast plate: A pizza made from naan bread, and a Diet Dr. Pepper. Breakfast of champions, lol.

On my reading pile: Still getting through The Lullaby Girl. But, GUYS, I finished a book. I picked up Like Water for Chocolate for the fourth of fifth time (because KIDS) and I finished it over the weekend! What an odd, sad, magical book.
Also, Gabe bought me a book about Dewey Readmore Books, the library cat in Spencer, Iowa. I'm taking it extremely slowly because I have a super big weak spot for cats and I already know that Dewey died after a good life. I've gotten halfway through the first chapter (where he was found) and I've already cried twice.

On my T.V.: I honestly have no idea. Ella and I need to watch Stalker in the Attic and pick a terrible movie for next weekend. At the rate I am going, I'm never going to finish CSI (for the fifth time)

On the menu this week:
Monday:  Ham, potatoes, and green beans in the crockpot
Tuesday: Pizza Soup (probably also in the crockpot)
Wednesday: Breakfast Casserole (recipe up on blog probably Wednesday night)
Thursday: Beef Stew, Mashed Potatoes
Friday: Chicken Pesto Pasta, veggies
Saturday: Sausage, Cabbage, and Potatoes
Sunday: It's Ella's birthday, so we are having her requested Slow Cooker Ravioli Lasagna, salad and of course, birthday cake.

From the camera:

We have some wetlands across the street from our house. I know these buttercups are just weeds that grow by the water, but I love them so much.

Looking around the house: The sun is coming out. I need to get the drop cloth folded...the one that I keep my plants on. I have some laundry to fold.

Chore I'm not looking forward to: Overhauling the laundry room. I think I would honestly rather dance on Legos barefoot, but it will be worth it!!

To relax this week, I will: Work in the garden. Take a long walk with my camera at some point.

On my prayer list this week: My husband, my kids, this country. A pregnant friend who is due in just a few days.

Devotional/Prayer Verse:

I'm doing a study in Proverbs this month and this is one of my favorite verses.

Have a beautiful week!

Happy Homemaker Monday: May 4, 2020

May the 4th be with you today :)

It's my daughters' birthday month, and they will both be very happy with the presents they will receive, I'm sure. My husband and I have gone above and beyond.

The weather: The forecast keeps changing! We were supposed to have snow this coming Saturday (no thank you!) but now the forecast says no. There's a definite drop in temps past Thursday though, so I'll have to bring in my plants again.

How I am feeling this morning: Rushed and aggravated. I'm supposed to have more time to spend at home during this, but I'm essential. Sigh. I'm thankful to have a job, but sometimes it's seriously demanding. At the same time, I could never fully stay at home, because work is all I know.

On my mind: See above. Also, converting tonight's dinner to the InstaPot.

On the breakfast plate: Psh, nothing. I had a cup of coffee, but thanks to my insane schedule, it's looking like either a granola bar or a drive through somewhere. If I'm lucky.

On my reading pile: I started "The Lullaby Girl" by Loreth Anne White and I can't get into it. I like the main character, so I think I'll just have to get past the slow start and I'll be good.

On my T.V: Yesterday, in true terrible Lifetime movie fashion, Ella and I watched Killer in the Guest House. It took us half of the movie to figure out that it was a sequel to Killer Downstairs. No spoilers here, but oof. I'd definitely think twice before renting out my guest house to ANYBODY. If I had a guest house, haha.

On the menu:
Monday: Instapot Cabbage Roll Casserole
Tuesday: Breakfast for Dinner
Wednesday: Beef and Broccoli, Rice
Thursday: Creamy Comfort Chicken
Friday: Grandma's Vegetable Soup
Saturday: InstaPot Cube Steak, Potatoes, Peppers
Sunday: Spaghetti and Meatballs

From the Camera:

This was our 6th year raising painted lady butterflies and we released them on Saturday.

Looking around the house: It's bright, it's sunny. The washer is going. Josie is playing with her big dollhouse (a relic we've had since Ella was a little one...how is she turning 14 in less than two weeks?!)

Chore I'm not looking forward to this week: Sorting out the fridge. And the big garden.

To relax this week, I will: Wait, people are relaxing? hahah

On my prayer list: The country, the world. My county, right now, is the only county of 100 in the state of North Carolina with no lab confirmed cases of the COVID.  I pray that it will stay that way.

Devotional/Bible Verse: I've been listening to Alan Jackson's hymn collection and through my time in the Baptist church, I've realized that I know every word. The Baptists and I disagree on a whole lot, but not the hymns. Heaven seems a lot sweeter and closer since my Dad and Grandpa Bruce left.

Have a beautiful week, my friends!
